Our Custom Fabrication department is seeking a dedicated Project Coordinator to aid in the fabrication and machining of components for special projects, including lifting devices, lift tables, torque arms, carts, and other custom material handling equipment. This role involves collaborating with our existing fabrication team and managing various project responsibilities.

Role Description

As a Custom Fabrication Project Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of special projects. You will be responsible for scheduling projects and personnel, allocating resources, and maintaining communication with the Fabrication team and Special Projects Manager. Your duties will include reviewing prints, answering technical questions, scheduling materials, performing dimensional and QC checks, and operating equipment.

Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience (Preferred)
  • Ability to read fabrication/shop prints
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools
  • Familiarity with mills, lathes, and welding processes
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and personnel
  • Capability to work with and without prints when necessary
  • Proficiency in math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Reliable commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

As our Project Coordinator for Custom Fabrication, you will:

  • Schedule projects/personnel and allocate resources to meet production schedules set forth by the Special Projects Manager
  • Review prints prior to fabrication and communicate with the Design team
  • Answer technical questions for the Fabrication team
  • Schedule materials such as paint and other outsourced items with our suppliers and the Design team
  • Maintain communication with the Fabrication team and Special Projects Manager regarding deadlines
  • Perform dimensional and QC checks through various stages of the project
  • Fabricate lift fixtures and other custom material handling equipment
  • Operate and maintain the lathes, mills, saws, and other equipment in the department
  • Work with the Draftsman to generate material lists, pull material from inventory, and assist in procurement
  • Maintain a safe and clean area
  • Assist in final QC and fit checks
  • Make occasional site visits for fit checks or to confirm measurements
  • Lead the Special Projects’ Fabrication team
