CraneWerks Inc. is a manufacturer of overhead material handling equipment including runway systems, overhead bridge cranes, and monorail systems. Our services include engineering, designing, fabrication, assembling & installation & testing. We also provide turnkey services. Our electric bridge cranes meet CMAA class C standards and our runway systems are designed to AISC specifications. CraneWerks components meet CMAA, HMI, NEC, ANSI & OSHA requirements.

Role Description

CraneWerks is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Shop Project Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various aspects of our crane manufacturing projects, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in project coordination, preferably in manufacturing
  • Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
  • Knowledge of crane manufacturing processes is a plus

As our Shop Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

  • Project Management
    • Start jobs by setting up project management software with schedules and allocating hours for each process
    • Release projects to the shop and schedule materials, machining, fabrication, paint, etc.
    • Track job costs and maintain project documentation
  • Scheduling and Coordination
    • Work with fabricators to create and update schedules as needed
    • Schedule outsourced work (painting, coating, machining)
    • Group projects for efficient machining
    • Generate packing slips and schedule shipments
  • Communication
    • Communicate with fabrication team, engineers, and customers regarding project status and timelines
    • Follow up on status of drawings, test fits, and sample parts
    • Liaise with in-house sales team and external customers about project readiness for test fits or delivery
  • Inventory and Materials Management
    • Check material stock and maintain inventory as needed
    • Order materials per project and organize received materials by project
    • Order consumables and special tooling as required
  • Technical Tasks
    • Review drawings and order any special tooling
    • Assign drawings to Professional Engineers
    • Mark up drawings for paint masking (highlight areas that can’t be painted)
    • Check in lifters for repairs, generate repair paperwork, and close projects upon completion
